Merry Christmas Everyone! While many of us will be spending the rest of the year full of joy and blessings, many are still struggling. It is for this reason that the Business & Professional Women (BPW) – Langley Chapter is hosting its first annual Christmas dinner and Silent Auction benefitting the Salvation Army’s Gateway of Hope.
As you know, Business & Professional Women (BPW)-Langley Chapter attracts women business professionals from the all over the Lower Mainland to attend our monthly meetings. As the Vice President of Young BPW, it is my pleasure to invite you to attend on December 10 at Newlands Golf Club in Langley, BC. Our special guest speaker for the meeting is Kamal Dhillon, an author, inspirational speaker and domestic violence counselor. Her book, the Black and Blue Sari, is her true story about the cost of leaving a toxic relationship and how the transition can empower you and those around you. This Christmas event is truly one of a kind, and all attendees are encouraged to bring their spouses. As always, this is a great opportunity to NETWORK and meet other women in business. Check us out!
Every month, BPW-Langley draws numerous attendees to our meetings and the participation of members from our surrounding Clubs. BPW develops the professional and leadership potential of women in Canada through education, awareness, advocacy and mentoring within a supportive network. Our Goal is the improvement of economic, political, social and employment conditions for women in Canada. Bottom line, we work to educate and empower women in Canada.
As the Langley Chapter grows, I am excited to be a part of the movement to share the benefits of our group. Why Join BPW?
Membership in BPW offers a plethora of opportunities and benefits to working women. Our advocacy work gives women a chance to be involved in the key issues that affect women in Canada and around the world. Clubs provide a “training ground” for developing leadership skills in a safe and supportive environment, allowing members to build networks and create lasting friendships. Members participate in a range of activities that lead to personal and professional development and career advancement.
A member of a local club is automatically a member of the district, provincial, national and international organizations. She is entitled to attend all events, including national and international conferences. She is also entitled to be a part of BPW Canada’s delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations in New York each February.
