Meet Christine
Christine Trischuk was born and raised in Surrey, BC. After looking for a way to gain volunteer experience during high school, Christine began volunteering for SurreyMemorialHospital in acute care. Following her heart, Christine then started her education at DouglasCollege to become a Registered Nurse. After completing an emotional first year of the program, Christine realized that she needed to change her major, falling into a different career.
Christine transferred to BCIT and began taking courses for accounting and human resources. Christine got a break in an interview for a position with a generator company when she was honest about her lack of knowledge, but proclaimed that she made up for it in enthusiasm. Christine then moved into the HVAC industry, with a position recruiting and training staff, and coordinating installs. In 2011, she completed her education to be certified as a Registered Professional Trainer. Currently working as a Sales Manager and an avid volunteer, Christine tries to pay it forward and inspire women to not be intimidated in the workplace.
Christine has also recently expanded her role as a speaker through the Valley Women’s Network. As the Coordinator for the Evening Chapter, and Executive Coordinator for the Valley Women’s Network as a whole, Christine chairs the monthly meetings, and acts as MC for various events. In her spare time, Christine participates in as many as 20 events per year in Langley and Surrey, helping to raise money for many worthwhile causes such as the Greater Langley Food Bank, Vancouver Children’s Hospital and Canadian Blood Services. Her latest dedication of time is spent once a month with her good friend Jackie Maclean, feeding the homeless on Hastings Street once a month. www.homelessonhastings.com
Every day she is still actively learning new skills and doing what it takes to ignite and maintain an attitude of success.
